Feeling Stuck? 3 Feng Shui Space Clearing Tips to Boost Focus and Productivity
Your space is like a mirror to your energy—clear the clutter, and watch your mind and life follow suit.
Ever sit down to get things done and suddenly feel like doing anything else? Same.
Lately, I’ve been riding this weird wave. I’m full of ideas. Inspiration is everywhere. But the second I sit at my desk? I’m scrolling. Snacking. Thinking about reorganizing my closet. Anything but the work that’s calling me.
At first, I blamed the rainy weather—those moody gray days that feel like walking through fog. But now the sun’s out, the skies are bright… and I’m still stuck.
Can you relate?
Here’s what I know: when our environment feels off, our energy follows. That’s where space clearing comes in.
Just like clutter can pile up physically, energy can stagnate. Especially in spaces we use for work. When the energy in your workspace is heavy, unfocused, or overwhelmed, it can affect your ability to think clearly and move forward with purpose. Clearing that energy is like hitting the reset button—on your space, your focus, and your drive.
Ready to shift things? Here are three ways to space clear your office or workspace so productivity can actually flow again:
1. Burn Palo Santo
Palo santo comes from sacred trees native to South America. For centuries, it’s been used in ceremony and healing. Its gentle, uplifting aroma clears the air and lifts the spirit almost instantly.
How to use it:
Light the end of a palo santo stick until it flames, then blow it out and let it smolder. Walk through your workspace slowly, guiding the smoke into corners, around your desk, and especially near electronics. Move clockwise around the room to keep energy flowing forward. When you're done, place the stick in a fire-safe bowl and allow it to go out naturally. You can relight it whenever your space needs a refresh.
✨ Pro tip: Set an intention as you go—“I clear this space of distraction and welcome clarity.”
2. Ring Bells
Sound is vibration. And vibration moves energy.
Ringing a bell helps cut through stagnant chi and wake up the space. You can use a Tibetan tingsha bell, chimes, or any bell that makes a clear sound. It also calls in the Metal element—known in Feng Shui for sharpening focus, boosting communication, and supporting clear, decisive thinking.
How to use it:
Stand in the center of your office and ring your bell nine times. Let the sound fade naturally between each chime. Notice how the space feels afterward—lighter, more open.
✨ Think of it as a sonic “refresh”—like opening the windows and letting in fresh air.
3. Use a Himalayan Salt Lamp
These beautiful glowing crystals do more than just look pretty. Himalayan salt lamps help clear the air of EMFs (electromagnetic frequencies) and negative ions—aka all the invisible energy noise from your phone, Wi-Fi, and laptop.
Why it matters:
That low-level buzz can mess with your concentration, sleep, and even your mood. Salt lamps bring in a grounding, earthy energy that’s especially helpful if your work feels scattered or overwhelming.
✨ Place one near your computer or in a corner of your office. Let its soft amber light remind you to stay grounded and centered as you work.
After Clearing: Set the Intention
Once you’ve cleared your space, don’t skip this part. Energy follows intention.
Take a few quiet moments to affirm what you’re calling in. Keep it simple but powerful:
“I am productive and supported. My work flows with ease. My space holds me in focus and clarity.”
Repeat it nine times (yes, nine—it’s a powerful number in Feng Shui).
Your Space, Your Energy
Sometimes the struggle to focus isn’t about willpower. It’s about energy. Your space wants to support you—but it needs your help to do that.
Look around your workspace. What needs to shift? What’s asking to be cleared or refreshed?
These small acts of intention—lighting palo santo, ringing a bell, turning on a salt lamp—may seem simple, but their impact is real. When you create a clear and focused environment, you invite in the energy to match it. You stop fighting against your space and start flowing with it.
