Living a Holistic Lifestyle: Creating Balance with Self-Care, Feng Shui, and Mindfulness

Living holistically isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being intentional. Balance comes from the small, everyday choices we make for ourselves, our homes, and our work. It’s the little things that add up to big shifts

I talk a lot about creating a holistic home here at Santoro Caniglia, but what does it really mean to live a holistic lifestyle?

I'm going to take you back to 2017, when I first began to explore holistic living and healing. At that time, I started diving deep into energy work and Reiki, looking for ways to heal and bring balance into my own life. It’s amazing to reflect on how this journey began, even before I fully understood where it would take me.

As I continued to work on my own healing, I realized how interconnected everything truly is—our energy, our well-being, and the environments we create. This path led me to embrace a lifestyle rooted in balance, intention, and nurturing both mind and body.

Now, years later, I’m still on that same path, continuing to create a life that feels whole and aligned.

Here’s a peek into what I personally practice to bring that balance into my life:

Self-Care

Living holistically is a lifestyle grounded in balance and harmony, both within yourself and in the world around you. For me, it begins with self-care—carving out time for yoga, regular exercise, walks with my puppy, meditation, and journaling.

That said, I’m human. There are times when I fall out of routine or “break the rules.” And that’s okay. Self-care is all about grace. No one is perfect. It’s about finding your balance and being kind to yourself along the way.

Mindfulness at Home

I’m all about bringing that same balance into my home. To me, a home isn’t just a place—it’s a living, breathing space that deserves attention, care, and respect. Our homes are a reflection of how we care for ourselves. When a home is neglected, it’s often a sign that we’re neglecting a part of ourselves or a certain area of our life.

That’s where Feng Shui comes in. When we begin to treat our homes with intention—making small adjustments and setting clear intentions—we’re energetically telling the universe that we want to focus on that part of our life. Through these intentional actions, we open the door for powerful manifestations to flow in.

For example, a clean, organized fridge or pantry tells the universe you’re taking care of your health. When your kitchen is in order, it’s easier to plan meals, avoid food waste, and make healthier choices while shopping. It’s all connected.

Mindfulness at Work

Just like at home, your work environment can be a mirror of your inner world. Are you keeping your office door closed and wondering why you’re not connecting with your colleagues? Is your workspace cluttered, making it hard to meet deadlines or keep track of things? Or is your space spotless, but you find yourself paralyzed by perfectionism and unable to submit your work?

Again, it’s about balance.

If your office is disorganized, it sends the message that you’re not prioritizing your work or productivity. You might be losing important papers, missing deadlines, or adding unnecessary stress to your day. But what if you took just 15 minutes at the end of the day to tidy up your desk? Energetically, you’d be telling yourself—and the universe—that you’re showing up for yourself. That energy will come back to you.

Living a Holistic Lifestyle

To me, living holistically is about creating harmony with yourself, your home, your relationships, and your work. It’s about being intentional with your actions—both physical and energetic—to align with your desires.

If you’re struggling to manifest your dreams or feel overwhelmed by the everyday, ask yourself: What’s out of balance? Is your physical space reflecting a story that needs to be rewritten? Or are you putting your hopes and dreams out there but not taking the necessary action to move forward?

I've had the pleasure of working with many clients, using Feng Shui, decluttering, and interior design to help them create balance and manifest their desires. If you’re ready to create a space that supports your dreams, I’d love to help. Let’s chat—follow along on our social media @SantoroCaniglia or book a Design Alignment Call.
